ChE Student Wins ISPE Scholarship

Senior chemical engineering major Ezra Aurian-Blajeni has won a scholarship from the local chapter of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE). Nine Joel Goldenberg Memorial Scholarships were recently presented by the Boston Area Chapter of ISPE, a non-profit, professional society serving the life sciences industry, including college and university students preparing to enter related fields.

The Boston Area Chapter of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) is proud to announce the winning applicants for the Chapter’s Joel Goldenberg Memorial Scholarships. ISPE is a non-profit, professional society serving the life sciences industry, including college and university students preparing to enter related fields. The scholarship program was established to honor the memory of Boston Area Chapter Past President Joel Goldenberg.

The Chapter accepts scholarship applications from graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students, and professionals currently working in the industry who are pursuing career advancement through continuing education.  Applicants, eligible to receive up to $8,000 in scholarship monies throughout their lifetime, must be members of the Boston Area Chapter of ISPE and provide information about their academic, extra-curricular and community service activities and accomplishments as well as their involvement with ISPE and the life sciences industry.  

The scholarship program has application periods ending November 1st and June 1st. Winners from the November 2014 application period are:

The Scholarship Program is one of several programs the Chapter has designed to help local students prepare for careers in the life sciences industry. The Annual Student Career Forum, where industry professionals provide guidance and mentoring to students seeking internships and jobs in the life sciences industry, will be held this year on Saturday, February 7th at Northeastern University. Later in the semester on April 16th, students from area colleges and universities will present their research at the Chapter’s Annual Poster Competition at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Winners selected in undergraduate and graduate categories will each receive $500 awards and travel to the ISPE Annual Meeting at the Chapter’s expense to participate in the International Poster competition. These programs are in addition to an array of ongoing activities at the many Student Chapters supported by the Boston Area Chapter at colleges and universities throughout the region.
