On Thursday, April 12, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., the Boston Globe and the University of Massachusetts Amherst will present a program on climate change entitled “Global Warning!” that features national biofuels expert, researcher, and activist Dr. George Huber of our Chemical Engineering Department. The evening will include a scientific panel on “What is Climate Change?” and a second panel on “How Can We Prevent Climate Change?” The program will take place in the Rabb Lecture Hall of the Boston Public Library, 700 Boylston Street in Boston, and space is limited. The first panel on “What Is Climate Change?” will include world-renowned global warming expert Dr. Raymond Bradley, the director of the Climate System Research Center, UMass Amherst, and Dr. Kerry A. Emanuel, the Cecil and Ida Green Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at MIT.
The panelists for the second forum on “How Can We Prevent Climate Change?” are Huber and Dr. John M. Reilly, the co-director of the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change. (April 2012)
